.TH LCTL-LQA-DESTROY 8 2026-05-29 "Lustre" "Lustre Configuration Utilities"
.SH NAME
lctl-lqa-destroy \- destroy a Lustre Quota ID Aggregate
.SH SYNOPSIS
.SY "lctl lqa destroy"
.BI --fsname " FSNAME"
.BI --name " LQANAME"
.YS
.SH DESCRIPTION
Destroy an existing Lustre Quota ID Aggregate (LQA) with the name
.I LQANAME
in the filesystem named
.IR FSNAME .
The
.B lctl lqa destroy
command must be run on the MDS0 node by the root user.
.P
When an LQA is destroyed, all quota ID ranges stored in that LQA are
removed, and the LQA itself is deleted from the filesystem. This operation
cannot be undone, so ensure that the LQA is no longer needed before
destroying it.
.P
.B WARNING:
Destroying an LQA will remove the aggregate quota enforcement for all IDs
in the range. However, individual ID quotas that were set within the range
will remain in effect. Administrators should clean up individual quotas
separately if needed.
.P
In a multitenancy environment, destroying a tenant's LQA will remove the
aggregate quota limit for that tenant, potentially allowing them to exceed
their intended allocation through individual ID quotas. Ensure this is the
intended action before proceeding.
.SH EXAMPLES
Destroy a tenant's LQA (use with caution):
.EX
mds0# lctl lqa destroy --fsname lfs02 --name tenant1
.EE
.PP
This will remove the aggregate quota enforcement for the tenant. Individual
ID quotas within the range will remain in effect. To fully clean up,
administrators should also remove individual ID quotas that were set within
the tenant's range.
